Social media is more about the social than the media. It’s about connection. Content ought to be driven by that. Without branded content, however, companies will miss that GIANT opportunity to really drive home a brand with repetition and consistency.
This has a lot to do with the visuals - logo placement, color, messaging, etc., but it also has to do with how you deal with your community. Growing from the foundation of a brand assists MAJORLY with understanding your voice and being intentional about using it off-, as well as, online.
You don’t want to become repetitive, but you also don’t want to sound like a stranger. Some companies call for a more professional tone. While others would come off as inauthentic if they took the same approach.

This brand, for example, is best represented with a calm and professional undertone. Everything from the color palette, to the messaging, and beyond, is soothing, natural, and health-conscious. It only makes sense to make sure the tone carries over to her socials.
When it comes to having an online presence, social media is probably more important than even the website.
While they both have their designated roles to play, without social media, businesses would be extremely limited in their reach to their community. For many/most -especially with so many options out there for nearly every product or service, COMMUNITY IS KEY.
Besides, without these platforms, you couldn't even drive traffic to your website.
