Manage Your Own Social Media

Updated: Mar 11, 2020
Not everyone can afford to hire social media managers, strategists, or "experts."
I am a Designer and Brand Developer and I use Social Media to help people tell their stories and spread brand awareness across their platforms!

Here are a 3 tips that ANYONE can implement TODAY that COST NOTHING!
SLOW DOWN
BE AUTHENTIC
FIND THE JOY IN IT
It's LITERALLY as simple as that!
When posting, think about these questions and make those things relative to your brand or business:
What do you like?
Why do you like it?
What would you want to see?
TRUST ME, other people share those interests! Even if it's not 1 Billion people, there are, for sure, a couple hundred thousand, minimally, and even without that 1 Billion followers, at least you'll be "creating content" that you take pleasure in making. That's worth something because:
A. Life is too short- enjoy it! B. You're going to be more invested!
People sense when you aren't. So even if you're just trying to do or be what you THINK people want - people can tell and will not hang with you for very long.
Potential short term gains that you have to work harder to get/maintain will NOT last longterm.
People want assurances and guarantees, but there aren't many in life and I don't like to use absolutes because who am I? I'm no guru.
I see people wanting to use Social Media to market products or services but do remember, Social Media is more about the "social" than the "media."
"Social" is about connecting.
True connection grows from AUTHENTICITY.
Sure, you can bridge gaps but when it comes to creating community and a culture, which is what you want, that's not going to happen (for the most part) without authenticity.
You can't be everything for everybody.
You can only be you... And appropriate!
Meaning don't throw a party in a library.
When it comes to your business, think about what makes you special / valuable...
*Special/Valuable: fun / helpful / safe / comforting / funny/ pleasing to the eye-touch-taste-ear / soothing / calming / meditative / thought - provoking / etc. ...Then, find the most excellent way to produce / distribute that. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. "Excellent," by the way doesn't solely mean top-tier production and/or equipment. It just means doing it to the best of your ability, capturing well what you're doing so that it conveys well when distributed, and doing it appropriately.
SHARING IS CARING | CARING IS SHARING Share what you care about AND Care about what you share!
And again, appropriate means time and place AND platform.. Capture the sound well.
Find good lighting.
Catch the nugget HOWEVER possible, at first. And over time, grow into being in tune enough to anticipate OR provoke it in a better situation.
ALSO,
Engage with people.
Respond and reach out.
Yes, it does takes time, but seriously, just take the time and DO IT!
All love, guys!
Hope you found this useful!
